Postalco's Pin-graph paper is one of those quietly distinctive things that is hard to describe until you have used it. The 1 × 1mm blue grid is the smallest practical graph ruling available — fine enough to function as a blank page for most writing purposes, but present enough to guide straight lines, small diagrams, and precise handwriting when needed. It is the grid that disappears when you are not looking for it and reappears when you are. Postalco designed it when they created their first notebooks in Tokyo more than fifteen years ago, and it remains the paper they are most associated with.
The paper itself has a light, deliberate texture — smooth enough for fluid writing without any drag, but not so slick that the pen slides uncontrollably. The thickness keeps most show-through to a minimum, making both sides of each sheet usable with most writing instruments. The refill pack contains 55 sheets of A6 Pin-graph paper pre-drilled with two holes on the short sides for compatibility with the Postalco Snap Pad binding system. The paper is ecologically made and chlorine-free.
