The Mitsubishi 2353 is a straightforward, dependable coloured pencil in a shade that earns its place on a professional desk as naturally as it does in a classroom. The colour is a deep indigo — closer to Prussian Blue than navy — rich enough to stand out clearly on white paper and dark enough to read as a distinct mark from a black pen or standard graphite. It is one of the two colours in the Mitsubishi coloured pencil range most associated with editing, proofreading, document marking, and annotation — the other being the companion Vermilion 2351.
The lead is soft enough to write smoothly and lay down a vivid, consistent stroke with light pressure, without the waxy feel that makes some coloured pencils difficult to erase completely. The round wooden barrel is comfortable in the hand for extended marking sessions, and the pencils are manufactured using Mitsubishi's joint method, which makes use of wood offcuts and reduces waste in production. Sold unsharpened, one dozen per box.
